Dear Christian Friends,
Greetings from Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico! This year has been reasonable for us; it seems to have gone by very quickly! Currently we have 8 Bible studies or services a week. Jose continues his radio programs in TX and here in Jerez. Proverbs 16:3 encourages us: Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
We enjoyed having Mom and Dad with us here in Jerez for January and February. They are a great help and encouragement. In January we resumed pastoral duties in La Ermita after a church split there.
In May we were able to renew without problem my FM 3 Mexican immigration document. In July we enjoyed having youth from BCLR to help us with VBS. This year we had it in 4 locations instead of 3; we had several professions of faith. We were also privileged having Dr. Coye with us that week.. He gave Jose and me both physicals and has continued to help Jose in regulating his medications for diabetes and high blood pressure. Jose takes 9 pills each morning!
In August I was able to spend a couple weeks in IL with the family. Jose stayed in Mexico leading the churches. Actually he was very ill the end of August and the beginning of September.
We are preparing for a wedding on Sunday and then Lord willing we plan to spend a few days with our kids in Dallas for Thanksgiving. We also have some business to attend to in Pharr.
Jose and I want to thank all our friends and supporters for their faithfulness. We desire for each of you a bountiful Thanksgiving and a blessed Christmas!
Our e mail is solisjj(at)hotmail(dot)com Thank you.

Solis - July 2008
It seems impossible that the BCLR group was here and already gone! We had good VBSes...I would say that there was more personal witnessing done than in most any year that the group has been here. The group was overall younger so had alot to learn, but I can only imagine how God will use them in the next couple of years :)! We trust the other mission trips went well too. The children here were asking for Pastor Santiago.
At the end of the time some of your group and all of us translators have ended up with some bug...sore throat/cold/congestion but PTL we didn't get sick sooner! Fabiola, Waldir, Noe and Angie leave Guadalajara this evening headed for Los Angeles.
Dr. Coye was really a blessing. He thinks he can regulate Jose's sugar and blood pressure and help him alot...we are already noticing some difference. We had neither one had a real physical ever, I don't think! Dr. Coye helped some of our people alot too and so gently and humbly. Byron helped Jose with some small projects which we appreciated too.
We want to thank you so much for the shoes...they are great! We are so grateful for the new hymnals too. We received other nice things too. Thank you to you and your family, and thank you to the church for their sacrifice too. Jose is so pleased with the earphones for his taping studio...Thank you!
In Christ,
Jan and Jose

Dear Christian Friends,
The work here continues. We had a fellowship meeting and baptismal service on Sunday night here in Jerez. The La Ermita group attended too J! The church in La Ermita meets 3 times a week and the church here meets 3 times a week, with a joint youth meeting on Saturday nights. On Wednesday there is a home meeting.
Jose continues to try to do his radio programs. Recently the computer had a problem and was down for 3 weeks. Jose was frustrated, but PTL it is working again…and so is he!
We appreciate your prayers and support. We would especially request prayer for health for us and our family, and for church growth and a special Easter.
The Lord is coming soon and we need to be ready!
In Christ
Jose and Jan Solis
